ReadingReading in our Classroom
Third grade reading is taught through a variety of ways. We will be reading together as a whole group, with partners, in a small reading group and independently. Children’s literature will be used to guide our instruction. We use a variety of third grade novels and different genres such as fiction, non-fiction, multicultural, mystery, poetry and biography. Open-ended Responses to Fiction and Nonfiction Text Answering open-ended questions is a big deal in third grade. We have tools to help make this difficult task more manageable for our kids to respond to text effectively. RACE is what we will be using to make sure we include everything we need in our open-ended responses. |
